This was held at the City of London School for girls on April 22 between 11am and 3pm. Seventeen people attended and it was an excellent opportunity for new information, sharing, and networking.
‘A very useful day and a good networking opportunity’ and ‘an excellent day’ were two of the feedback comments.
The topic was ‘Asking for Money’ : this was requested by Development directors for in the day school sector which we represent, since such development issues are relatively new. Stephen Smith ( former Head of Bedford Modern School) described his experiences og setting up a development office, and how to develop a culture of asking in order tom maintain and build on all the issues we do best. Peter Hamilton ( Head of haberdashers’ Aske’s), along with Peter Spence (Holistic, Educational Marketing and Fundraising) took the group through the issues involved, recognising that asking for money should be the natural development of a school culture. The Presentation is available in our ‘Downloads’ section.
